Gerly Adrien is standing to fight for Everett Candidate discusses residents’ concerns and some of he
Gerly Adrien is running for State Representative to represent the city of Everett because we need an advocate who will fight for education, economic development, public safety, affordable housing, youth programs and protecting our seniors. Everett needs real leadership, who can get real results. Adrien will work for you and will be your voice at the State House. This is the message that has been resonating with Everett residents as Adrien takes the time to meet and listen to their concerns. As a dedicated servant leader, Adrien has the experience and drive to be a different kind of state legislator – one who is concerned with creating sustainable improvements in Everett rather than advancing her own career. This past weekend, Gerly Adrien was invited to a community barbeque in Everett and had a wonderful time. As she sat listening to their concerns and answering questions, it reminded her more and more that this is what Everett is looking for in their State Representative – someone who can sit down with anyone in Everett and listen to their needs. Please join Gerly Adrien as she hosts the Ice Cream Meet and Greet on this upcoming Saturday, July 30 from 2 p.m.–4 p.m. on the corner of Ferry Street and Elm Street. She looks forward to meeting more residents and listening to their issues. On this campaign trail, Gerly Adrien has been able to compile some of the issues and concerns many Everett residents have discussed with her. Below are some of the issues where she is standing up for and fighting on.
Fighting for Individuals & Families
Gerly Adrien understands the challenges faced by working and low-income individuals and families. Adrien is committed to making sure everyone has a better quality of life. At the State House, Adrien will continue the fight to raise the minimum wage, equal pay, affordable housing and better transportation options.
Protecting and Honoring Senior Citizens
Gerly Adrien understands the magnitude and value of ensuring the well-being of Senior Citizens! Adrien is well aware that seniors in this district often face difficult financial decisions after they reach the age of retirement. From working to protect social security to fi ghting for quality health care, prescription drug coverage and housing for the elderly, Adrien is committed to making sure that seniors have the financial and medical resources to enjoy their golden years. The government cannot allow the pain and suffering of America’s elderly and uninsured to continue, and she is going to fight to eliminate pain and suffering by our senior citizens.
Education and Youth Programs
We can provide hope to our youths through education and youth programs. With the strong foundation, education and youth programs, such as Teen Empowerment, combined with leadership gave her the opportunity to witness and participate in an array of life changing and shaping experiences. We need to push for high educational standards in the classrooms and schools. Gerly Adrien is committed to ensuring that every child receives a quality education and has the opportunity to pursue trades and / or a college degree. We need to ensure that our schools are equipped to meet the needs of every student. It will, also, be her duty to fight for more funding for after-school and summer programs.
Economic Development As a citizen, Gerly Adrien has witnessed the economic woes, and how it influences crime and the veracity of anxiety on safety for its residents! She will strive to create more well paying jobs for residents of Everett. Actively pursuing policies and consistently reaching out to entrepreneurs and businesses owners to encourage the establishment and growth, which will bring more jobs to the community. It is part of her mission to work to ensure that she serves the needs of District residents as they search for employment as well as job training and career development programs.
Crime & Public Safety
Gerly Adrien will work in Everett and with members of the community to address the drug and crime issues that have plagued the District for the past few years and threaten the safety and quality of life of our community. It is her goal to ensure that there are enough highly trained law enforcement personnel that are in touch with the needs of the District neighborhoods and, also, that there are well funded after-school programs to keep youths off the streets with positive and enriching alternatives to drugs, gang membership, and crime. Adrien understands that we must take a careful approach to criminal justice with greater emphasis placed on rehabilitation for minor drug possession offenses both in order to reduce the number of repeat offenders and to assist these individuals in becoming productive, contributing members of our community.
As the campaign trail continues, Gerly Adrien will continue to listen to our community issues and concerns. Please contact her if you have any questions or need someone to talk to. The election will be held on Thursday, September 8. You can learn more about Gerly Adrien and how she is breaking barriers and building a better future for everyone at www. gerlyadrien.com.
